Track my item
? How do I find my tracking number?Whether you are waiting for a parcel, a legal document, a bank card, or a large freight item, DX tracking gives you real-time visibility of exactly where your shipment is right now. Use the DX tracker tool above to check your delivery status instantly — just enter your tracking number and postcode. This guide explains every reference type you can use, what each status means, how to rearrange a missed delivery, and what to do when tracking is not working.
What Is DX Delivery?
DX Delivery — officially known as DX Group — is one of the UK and Ireland’s leading independent logistics providers. Founded in 1975, DX became a go-to solution for businesses during the Royal Mail postal strikes of that decade and has grown steadily ever since. Their network now covers almost 100% of UK and Ireland business and residential addresses.5
Today, DX has evolved into a major end-to-end mail, parcel, and freight operator, delivering over 92 million items annually. The company operates through two main divisions: DX Express (for secure, next-day courier services) and DX Freight (for IDW — Irregular Dimensions and Weight — and heavy logistics). With a network of 110 depots and new Super Sites in Birstall and Wellingborough, DX is a trusted partner for both public and private sector organisations.
Why people use DX:

How to Track a DX Delivery?
There are two ways to track a DX parcel: using the tracker on this page or using the booking platform the sender used.
Method 1: Use the DX Tracker Above (Fastest)
The tracking tool at the top of this page supports all DX reference types — tracking numbers, consignment numbers, airway bill numbers, and calling card references. There are 3 steps:
Tip: Always have your delivery postcode ready. DX requires postcode verification on Express deliveries as a security step — without it, results may not display.
Method 2: Track via Your Booking Platform
If you bought from a retailer who shipped via Parcel2Go, Parcel Monkey, Interparcel, or another booking partner, you can also track through that platform using the same DX reference number. All you need is your DX tracking code or your platform booking reference to get complete visibility of your package from collection to delivery.
DX Tracking Number Formats — Which One Do You Have?
Before you track, you need to know what type of reference number you have. DX uses several formats depending on the service division. The standard tracking number is typically a numerical code that can be 9, 10, 12, or 13 digits long. Some specific services or calling cards may use an 8-digit sequence. Consignment numbers can vary but are usually distinct numerical sequences provided on the shipping label.
Here is a full breakdown:
| Reference Type | Format | Where to Find It |
| DX Express Tracking Number | 9–13 digits | Confirmation email or SMS from sender |
| DX Freight Consignment Number | 8 digits | Shipping label or despatch note |
| Calling Card Number | 8 digits | Left by driver after a missed delivery |
| Customer Reference | Varies (e.g. PM_XXXXX) | Order confirmation or booking platform |
| Airway Bill Number | Numeric sequence | Physical barcode label on the parcel |
All of these formats are accepted by the tracking tool at the top of this page. Enter the number exactly as shown — no spaces, no extra characters.
Note: If your tracking number contains 8 digits, call 0333 241 1100. If it contains 9, 10, 12, or 13 digits, call 0333 241 5700. If your item originates in the Republic of Ireland, call 00 353 1506 0182.
How to Track DX with an Airway Bill
An airway bill (AWB) is the physical barcode label attached to your shipment. For DX airway bill tracking, the number printed beneath the barcode on the shipping label is your consignment or tracking number — and it works directly in our tracker above.
There are 4 steps to track using a DX airway bill number:
A tracking or consignment number is the barcode-related number for your DX delivery or collection. This barcode is scanned as an item moves from collection through to delivery. Your reference number will be provided by the company you purchased from.
Tip: If the airway bill number returns no result, check whether the label has a secondary reference labelled “Ref” or “Customer Ref” and try that instead.
DX Express Tracking

Standard Express
Next-day delivery for standard parcels under 25 kg. Your tracking number is 9–13 digits.
DX Secure Flex
A premium next-day delivery product aimed at consumer recipients of items requiring verified receipt. Before the courier arrives, recipients are notified by text or email and can monitor the driver’s progress via live GPS tracking. They can adjust delivery preferences in advance, including changing the delivery date, nominating a neighbour, or specifying a safe place. On delivery, the courier provides photographic proof, a GPS location scan, and a three-point door description.
DX Secure Business
Secure collections and deliveries for business addresses within business hours.
DX Exchange
Members-only network for legal documents and medical specimens, with post-5 PM collection and pre-9 AM delivery.
DX SameDay
Same-day courier service operating 24/7, 365 days a year across the UK.
For all DX Express items, enter your 9–13 digit tracking number and delivery postcode into the tracker at the top of this page to get live status updates.
DX Freight Tracking
DX Freight specialises in items that are too large, too heavy, or too awkwardly shaped for standard couriers. DX Freight specialises in handling items with irregular dimensions and weight (IDW), making an excellent choice for shipping large or heavy items that exceed 25 kg and 1.8 meters.

There are 4 DX Freight services, all trackable using our tool above:
For DX freight tracking, your consignment number is 8 digits. Enter it into the tracker above with your delivery postcode. Freight items may have a scheduled delivery window arranged separately — check your confirmation text or email for any pre-booked time slot alongside your live tracking result.
DX Secure Tracking

DX Secure is the specialist service for high-value, sensitive, or identity-critical items. Banks, government bodies, healthcare providers, and financial institutions use it to deliver:
When your DX Secure item is due, you will receive an SMS or email notification before the driver arrives. You can monitor the driver’s live GPS location on delivery day and adjust preferences including safe place, neighbour nomination, or a new delivery date — all via the link in your notification text.
To check the broader status of your DX Secure item (depot scans, despatch, out for delivery), enter your tracking number into the tracker at the top of this page. Live GPS tracking on delivery day is handled separately via the DX driver notification link you receive by SMS.
Important: A DX Secure driver will never ask you for payment at the door. If this happens, refuse and report it to DX immediately on 0333 241 5700.
DX Night Freight Tracking
DX Night Freight is a scheduled overnight freight service for business customers. It is designed for time-critical pallets and large consignments that are collected in the evening and delivered to business premises before operations begin the following morning.
For DX Night Freight tracking, there are 3 steps:
Note: If tracking is not updating overnight, allow until 7–8 AM the following morning. Night Freight depot scans are batch-processed on arrival and do not always generate real-time intermediate updates during transit.
Night Freight customers experiencing tracking gaps after 8 AM should call DX Freight customer service on 0333 241 1100 (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday, 8 AM to 3 PM).
DX Tracking Status Meanings Explained
You have entered your number into the tracker and a result is showing — but what does each status actually mean?
| Tracking Status | What It Means |
| Despatched / Collected | DX has collected the item from the sender. It is now in the DX network. |
| In Transit / At Depot | Your parcel is moving between depots or being sorted at a DX facility. |
| Out for Delivery | Your parcel is loaded onto a van and is being delivered today. |
| Delivery Attempted | The driver came but no one was available. A calling card was or will be left. |
| Card Left | A “We Missed You” card has been left. Use the reference on it to rearrange redelivery. |
| Delivered | The item has been successfully delivered. Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) is available. |
| Awaiting Collection | The item is held at a DX depot for you to collect in person. |
| Exception / Problem | There is an issue with the delivery — contact DX directly for details. |
Tip: If the status has not updated for more than 24 hours on a standard Express service, it does not always mean your parcel is lost. Overnight transit between depots does not always generate intermediate scans. Wait until the following morning before contacting DX.
How to Rearrange or Book a DX Redelivery
Missed a delivery? Here is exactly what to do.
❓ Step 1: Find Your Calling Card
The DX driver will leave a “We Missed You” calling card at your door. On the calling card you will find either a tracking or consignment number that you can use to track your item or, if available, book a redelivery.
🔎Step 2: Check the Status First
Enter the calling card reference number into the tracker at the top of this page to confirm the current status of your item before arranging redelivery. This tells you whether the parcel is back at depot and eligible for redelivery.
⚙️ Step 3: Rearrange Your Delivery Now
Use the tracker at the top of this page .Enter your reference number from the calling card to:
Note: If these options are not shown in the tracker above, please call us directly using the contact numbers in the section below.
✅Step 4: Confirm and Wait
After rearranging, DX will send a confirmation SMS or email. Keep your phone available on the new delivery date — DX Secure Flex deliveries will send a live driver link before arrival.
DX Tracking Not Working — Fixes
If the tracker above is returning an error, a blank result, or “reference not valid,” work through these fixes in order:

Check the digit count
If your tracking number contains 8 digits, call 0333 241 1100. If it contains 9, 10, 12, or 13 digits, call 0333 241 5700. The wrong number type is the most common cause of empty results.
Enter your delivery postcode
Many DX Express results will not display without the recipient’s postcode. Make sure you are entering the destination postcode — not the sender’s.
Allow 24 hours after despatch
If the sender only just booked the collection, the tracking reference may not yet be active in the DX system. Wait until the following morning and try the tracker again.
Check for a typo
A single wrong digit returns nothing. Copy the number directly from your email or SMS rather than typing it manually.
Try your booking platform reference
If you bought from a retailer who shipped via Parcel2Go or Interparcel, also try your platform booking reference — some booking references resolve where the DX number alone does not yet show data.
Contact DX directly
If none of the above works, DX customer service can locate your item by delivery address. Use the contact numbers in the section below matched to your tracking number digit count.
DX Customer Service Numbers
DX’s Customer Service team will help if your tracking number is not working. Calls to 0333 numbers cost no more than calling a standard geographic number starting with 01 or 02 from your fixed line or mobile, and may be included in your call package depending on your service provider.

Fraud Warning — DX Delivery Scams
Fraudsters send fake DX delivery text messages asking recipients to pay a “redelivery fee” by clicking a link. This is a scam — it has nothing to do with DX Group or this tracking tool.
The real DX will never:
If you are ever asked for payment by a delivery driver, refuse and contact DX to let them know. Delete any suspicious messages claiming to be from DX and do not click any links inside them. Report scam texts to 7726 (free on all UK networks).
